Preparation of sodium periodate

   Erlenmeyer flask is placed 12.7 grams of iodine and 60 g minced (54 ml) 10% NaOH solution. Heat the flask gently until dissolved iodine. Now close the flask twice pierced stopper and glass tube to introduce chlorine solution. The reaction mixture was heat it almost to boiling. During the reaction begins before sodium periodate.
