Stable Radicals

Molecules or ions with one unpaired electron is called radicals or ionradikály.

Examples of a compound which is decomposed into relatively stable radicals is bibenzyl. After activation, just shaken and thereby supply the necessary kinetic energy will be symmetrical collapse bibenzylu two radicals. Energy consumption per CC bond dissociation is covered due to resonance stabilization and increase of entropy with the collapse of one molecule of the two particles. The advantage of this system is that the resulting radicals over time rekonbinují the parent compound and the cycle can start again. Generally, the organic compounds are almost colorless and colored radicals are contrary.
